What to do about care home workforce retention and recruitment?

Dr Reena Devi and Professor Karen Spilsbury contributed to a commentary in Age and Ageing calling for recognition of the diversity of the care home workforce, and that ‘one sized fits all solutions’ are unlikely to be effective when it comes to recruitment and retention. They provide an overview of challenges for the care home workforce and argue for studies using empirical evidence to test different theories of what might work for different staff, how and why, and in different circumstances.
