Springfield Healthcare
Springfield Care offer collaboration through their care home, and their home care services. It is through collaboration that researchers work directly in the home and learn from staff, people living in the home and loved ones. It is the lived experience of those in the home that directly influence our priorities.
We have had a range of topics explored through this way of working. Including technology in care, end of life care, staffing levels, oral care, and transmission of infection. To name but a few.
The work may form traditional research papers, by it also is translated into accessible documents which are free for all to access through our resources tab. By doing this, we make sure care homes have a place where they can reliably access materials they know are supported by evidence.
Collaboration continues to grow, with our Linking Pin researchers in the home, we continue to explore issues that matter to those in the home. We also plan to work closely in supporting each others communications, and events ensuring those closest to the home benefit from the partnership.
In the video above, Chief Executive Officer Paul Philips, with NICHE Leeds founder Professor of Nursing Karen Spilsbury, reflects on the importance of research and how the collaboration between home and academic institution has resulted in improvements in delivery of care.
